ATARI 7800

It was pretty clear by this time that Atari was losing ground on the home console market. The really small game library of the 5200 was a glaring problem. In order to try and remedy this, the 7800 was made backward compatible with the 400+ 2600 games. An idea that was pretty well received by the consumers. Unfortunately, the number of games actually made for the system is pretty small.

They did manage to avoid the use of a number pad on the controller though. So for emulation purposes, it's a decent system.

Drop all your rom zips in:

R:\ARCADE\RetroArch-1.9.1-Win64\system\GAMES\Atari 7800\

Next, fire up RA, download the "prosystem" core and try a couple of games to make sure they work.

Then make the usual RL settings:

The XML from HyperList has 60 entries. I have done my usual quick edit removing all the "eur" only,"unl", "demo", and "proto". And making sure the remaining games all have "wheels" and videos available for them. The result is list with 57 entries.
